Life is GOOD!

Carter... this was your first year of many
at Muscular Dystrophy camp with two of
your favorite people, Jason and Jett.
They call it "camp" but what it really should be called is a week of
"LUXURY"
at the Hilton in Salt Lake.
The theme this year was holidays, so everyday you celebrated
a different holiday.
_
HALLOWEEN...
Buckaroo Grandpa went to be your volunteer.
I'm so grateful for the time you were able to spend
together.
I think Grandpa was pretty shocked at your
picky eating habits.
Next year I'll be sure to pack some of your favorites.
_
There was a duck pond right next to the hotel.
I'm certain those ducks were happy to
have Jett and your Dad around.
They were well fed!
(I have a ton of pictures to prove it!:)

Your Dad was Jett's volunteer. I'm still wondering who
was the bigger kid. They had dances every night
and your Dad was paying the boys to ask all the pretty
girls to dance... it was all silly fun until one of the
girls asked you to dance. Right in front of her you
looked at your Dad and said "how much will you pay me Dad?"
Luckily she was 19 (volunteer) and thought you were
hilarious.
_

This is just one of several groups.
MDA camp was such an amazing experience.
Carter - you cried the first night you were home
because you wanted to go back so bad.
You came home with a T-shirt that says
"Life is Good"
What a true statement, especially with you in it.
I'm blessed to be your Momma...

BED BUG...

Can you tell we had a rough night?!?
Addison... you have been an AMAZING sleeper
until last night.
When I saw your hair this morning I instantly
remembered what it was like being pregnant
with you. The very reason I went into the hospital
on the day you were born was because you stopped moving
for 5 minutes and it freaked me out.
Truly I'm shocked your crib isn't in pieces... :)

was truly priceless.

SIX...

Carter... I took a deep breath on your birthday, "six already!" While I busily hustled around all day you were constantly on my mind. I thought of all the ways you have grown in the past year and all the obstacles you have tackled. You handled Kindergarten with far more grace than I expected. I must admit I was nervous when you met your teacher for the first time and you told her to "stop talking." You are my most honest and verbal child. You are the first one to tell me how beautiful my eyelashes are and also the first one to tell me I have WAY TOO many polka dots! (freckles) You're not at all shy in with the fact that you love the ladies. In fact part of your routine after I comb your hair is to use your Dads mouth wash and a precise amount of his cologne. I smile every time and remind myself you have two sisters and an amazing Dad that will help me teach you how to be a gentleman!
A couple of months ago our suspicions were confirmed and we were told that you have Emery Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy... This disease is going to make certain aspects of your life more challenging. When I was pregnant with you I knew it was a possibility I could be a carrier of muscular dystrophy and yet I had this constant feeling that you were given a choice before you came to this earth. I can promise you I will be your biggest encourager when you get discouraged with the limitations your body will face. Thank you for continually reminding me what this life is all about and keeping me focused on the more important things!

Love, Mom

My 2 Year old Tinker Tot...

Funny how time is...
thinking back it seems
like yesterday I was shocked
by your beauty for the first time...

and yet I can hardly remember
back far enough to my days without you.

There are some days being your Mommy
feels like the greatest job on earth, and
there are also moments I pray nap time
to come a little quicker.

You wake up every morning humming
a sweet tune...
with your big pink binky in your mouth,
(cause pink is your favorite color!)

The reason I know your favorite color
already is because you make it very clear
when we (you) pick out your clothes every
morning.

You often request licorice (ricorice) for
breakfast... and on the mornings when
I'm not up for the "what's good for you chat"
I give in...

You love to dance with your "sissy" and
chase your "brodder" around the house...
but you never hesitate to put them in their
place. "pop (stop) brodder, go way"

Being the youngest of 3 in my family,
I know we share the same determination.
I see it in the sassy way you walk when
you don't get something your way.

I know you are only 2 but somedays I swear
there's a 16 year old in that little body of yours...

I'm certain you will grow up too fast...
Just promise me you will keep giving me
those hugs that make me feel like the
best Mommy in the world...

because I LIVE for them!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tinker Tot!!
