Too Much Time With Daddy!

This is to funny not to share. We were at my parents house tonight, and Carter went into my Dads office where he was watching the Democratic Convention and this is the conversation I overheard. (mind you Carter is only 4. )

Carter - Bapa do you hate Obama?
Bapa - No, Carter I don't hate Obama, but I don't agree with everything he says.
Carter - My Dad gets real angry when he is on TV, he says Obama is a COMMUNIST!
Bapa - (laughing) Really? What is a communist Carter?
Carter - I don't know, but it doesn't sound good!

I had no idea Carter was listening to all the terrible things Dan has been saying to the TV the last couple of days. So if you like Obama you might not want to talk to my 4 year old about it, if he listened well enough to pick up the word communist the rest can't be good either.

Profound Wisdom

Today at work I had the privilege to take back an older gentleman. And when I say old I mean he was born in 1903, yes that makes him 105! I'm guessing he stood about 5'2" with a small curve to his back. He used a cane for support but had a admirable swing in his step. I was mesmerised by him and so out of curiosity I asked "so what's your secret to living 105 years?" In my head I'm thinking he is going to tell me some crazy ingredient he adds to oatmeal, but without pause he simply states "FAMILY and LOVE." He then goes on to tell me he has 5 children and they all fight over who gets to take care of him. Now let me add that his children are no spring chickens! His oldest is 85! (I don't know about you, but none of my grandparents lived much into their 80's and they could barely take care of themselves at that age.) Within our few minutes of interaction I quickly could see why they would fight over him. He is full of more life than most people I know and he seemed excited to still be here.

I smile every time I think of his simple yet Profound Wisdom!

Happy 30th Birthday Daniel and Diana!
If you think Dan is cool you have got to meet his twin sister Diana. When Dan and I were dating she is the one who sealed the deal. I knew I was lucky when I was marrying the most fabulous man and one of my best friends was becoming my sister! I love you both so much and can't imagine my life without your crazy hilarious humor! Here's a little birthday secret for those of you that don't know. It wasn't known until Daniel was born and was smaller than expected that Diana was discovered. Can you imagine not finding out until birth that you were having twins?!

Can you believe it's been
3 Months already?
Time is going to fast! This little lady rules the house. In fact I hardly hear her cry because Kennedy and Carter are such good entertainers. So great that I've had to tell Kennedy to leave Addy alone when she is playing good all by herself. I'm trying to prepare Addy and myself for the fast approaching school days. I can only hope with the house more quiet, she'll start napping better.

Carter's showing you how sleep deprived we've been this summer, but what's summer without a whole lot of time with good friends and family? July was a crazy busy month for us and sorry to say but blogging was not at the top of my priority list. In fact I'm amazed at how well everyone else keeps caught up. On most days I feel lucky just to get a shower. I know I sound just like a Mom with a new baby, I love it. My kids keep me crazy but happy!
Here's a few random pictures from July.

Here's all 8 of the the grand kids on my side.
4 boys 4 girls! They all had a great time playing together
except for JaCoy. She's way too busy texting her
"friend" Michael all the time.
I love teenagers!
Wendi, Nicole and I were just relaxing at the park, solving the mysteries of the world when my brother captured the moment!
There is something magical about sisters!
This is my friend Becki from the college years.
Remember how busy we thought we were back then,
ha if we only had a clue what Motherhood would be like!
Thanks for the visit Becki, it was fabulous to catch up.

We had a lot of support from good friends
and family for Addison's blessing.
Thanks Christian, and Samantha for being a part of the day,
I can't wait for Addison and Lilliana to make messes together!

This is my cousin Hillary and Addy's future nursery pal, Raife.
Watch out I'm certain they're going to be trouble.

Let me put this in perspective. My brother is 6'8''!
Fire works are a big deal every year in my sisters neighborhood.
It's always busy, loud and really smoky!

I heard the fireworks were great!
I was home with my girls, Kennedy had some nasty 4th of July bug,
and Addy needed a good nap. I must admit I enjoyed just relaxing at home,
although Carter said I missed out he said it was "AWESOME!"
He loves anything to do with fire.
